Chemical storage

CoSHH compliant chemical storage cabinets

Like any other hazardous material storage, chemical cabinets are regulated by CoSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002). You have a legal obligation to adhere to the legislation if you store chemicals on your premises.

The chemical cabinets supplied by Work Area Ltd are designed specifically for the safe storage of chemicals and comply fully with the CoSHH regulations. You can browse the range of chemical cabinets here, or contact Neil Hancox if you need any help or advice.

Storage cabinets for chemicals

If you have chemicals marked as flammable, they must be stored in fireproof cabinets. These should be made of steel and have a fire-resistance rating of at least 30 minutes.

Chemical storage cabinets should have welded seams to prevent fire seeping through gaps

Chemical cabinet security

Your chemical storage cabinets need secure locks. Like acid storage cabinets, they should be firmly attached to walls or floors to prevent accidental damage or even vandalism.

Work Area’s chemical storage cabinets include secure locking mechanisms and are provided with pre-printed warning labels for your convenience.
